Selection Process: General Aptitude Test, Case Study, Personal Interview

Pattern of the Test

The General Aptitude Test lasted 1 hour and comprised 20 questions.

Twelve questions focused on Data Interpretation, while eight were based on a Case Study with two comprehensions. The questions were of a hard difficulty level.

Group/Case Discussion

Technical Interview

During the Interview, candidates were asked to introduce themselves and discuss the history of the internet. There were several questions related to the internet and specific inquiries about why they wanted to join Bain. One of the guesstimate questions involved estimating the amount of chicken required for a college food festival over two days, considering the cost of chicken was Rs. 1000 per kg. Another challenge was a puzzle where candidates had to identify a heavy ball among 41 identical balls using a conventional weighing machine in the minimum number of trials.

HR Interview

The interview also included questions about the candidate’s background, why they were interested in a non-technical role, project-related queries, and reasons why they should be selected.

Additionally, there was a Case Study discussion based on the Case Compendium.
